Chapter Four:
Do you think the way the handled the snake incident was appropriate? What could they have done differently?
I think it was appropriate and the most safest way they could have done it without getting hurt. Something they could have done differently though is maybe carry the sleeping bag outside and try to get the snake out with some food, so then the snake or them wouldn't be hurt.
Ellie claims that 'Hell' is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labelled places or things. She then comes to the conclusion that 'Hell was people'. Is she right? What's your opinion, on labelling and Hell?
In certain ways she is right because a lot of people do jsut label things and come up with names without understanding or knowing anything about what the thing really is, like 'Hell'. I think maybe they named it Hell because to some people it just looked scary and something that terrified them.
What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? 'Their -----, Their -----, their ----- frighting me.' Do these characteristics have any significance?
Something strange about the planes were the speed they were going and how dark they were. Ellie explains that it's not normal to see planes at hat speed and how they sound to be in Wirrawee so it gave her a feeling that something must be wrong. The give a strong meaning to the reader because it tells us that Ellie is feeling uncomfortable and worried about the planes and that she has a gut feeling something could be wrong.
Corrie and Kevin are the only couple in the group, but the trip was bound to bring friends closer. So why does Homer interest in Fi seem so odd to Ellie?
She finds it odd because of how different they are compared to each other, and how Homer presents himself as very annoying and a bit up himself. Another reasons is also because Home doesn't really pay attention to any girls in person or even bother with girls until now.
Fi brushes off the planes coming back from Commemoration Day. Why do you think the planes were flying over Wirrawee?
I think it could just be for the show or that something terrible must be happening.
Robyn claims there were dozens and dozens of planes flying over them. What is Lee's response? Is his suggestion reasonable?
Lee's response is that he is suggesting that it could be the start of World War Three. I think his suggestion is reasonable because that could be likely to happen because of how strange it is to see that many planes flying across the skies of Wirrawee.
