What is my Kaupapa

What is my Kaupapa?

My visual arts course this year will be focused on Painting. I took painting last year as-well and really enjoyed it, I'm taking it two years in a row as painting is something that really interest and I enjoy being creative. I've chosen this year for my Kaupapa to be Feminism and Social conscience. I picked this as my Kaupapa as it goes well with my theme that I have picked which is 'Rich & Poor'. This theme is something that I wanted to do because I enjoy the idea of comparing things the people with money can afford and people who don't have money can't. I wanted two compare the two such as 'Money is happiness'.

The paragraph above is my intro into my folio and my art this year. Its explains my kaupapa and a few of my ideas that I'm going to be using. Below I have created a mood board on some artist that have used the same kaupapa as me.

After completing this I have chosen three artists that I am going to use for my 2.1. These are Leonora Carrington, Banksy and Yayoi Kusuma. This will also help me start my 2.2 as-well which is my folio.

Below is a brainstorm of my theme and my Kaupapa.
This is a brainstorm we worked on together in class, this is shows my chosen subject and some of the ideas I want to add into my my paintings/drawings. It also shows my matrix themes and some ideas that come from that, such as feminism and how body type is part of it. An example of this is how other woman view other woman as having bigger or slime bodies.
