Tomorrow when the War Began Chp Twelve

Chapter Twelve

"They say teenagers can sleep all day". Is this true? Do you agree? Does Ellie still see herself as a typical teenager?
In some cases this can be true teenagers can sleep all day but it depends on what they've done. Say if they've been awake all night keeping a look out then yes they will sleep all day to catch up on the sleep they missed. I don't think Ellie see's herself as a typical teenagers because of all the things she has gone through with her friends, I mean I wouldn't.
Ellie's dream at the beginning of the chapter is rather nonsensical, as dreams are won't to be. Is there any meaning of it? Try is explain what Ellie's subconscious could be thinking about: Why is her dad cooking for the whole town? Why did father Cronin ignore Ellie's greeting? Why was Corrie 8 years old again? Why were they sailing off on a boat? Why was Lee undressing?
I think that there is a lot of meaning to Ellie's dream. Mostly her backtracking and being confused on some of the things she saw and that had happened to her. I think Corrie was 8 years old in her dream, because Ellie wish's she could go back to that age were her and Corrie were, where there was no war, no stress and no having to be where she is now. Ellie and the others sailing off in a boat is a way of them getting away being away from all the mess and all the war that is going on. The last thing about Lee getting undressed, may be that way she see's Lee, as we know she has feelings towards him but she also sees him very romantically and in a sexual way.
Why is it so terrible that Chis falls asleep while on sentry duty? How does Ellie react? Why do you think she reacts this way?
Chris falling asleep is horrible if I'm being honest, if something bad had happened it would've been his fault because he was not awake to alarm the others that danger was coming. Ellie's very upset and mad because she know that there could have been consequences for them all.
Back in Hell, Ellie's dreams are far more ominous. Explain why Ellie is dreaming of her fears.
So many things have happened to Ellie in such a small time, things she would have never thought she would have to see or deal with at least not at this age, her fears are starting to show through her dreams because her mind is making her think of all evil things that can happen or could happen.
