Tomorrow when the War Began Chp One

Chapter One:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the first person narrative?
An Advantage is that you see through that persons eyes and the way they feel about what happens during the book, but a disadvantage can that you only see through one characters perspective and not the others kids.
Why do you think Ellie needs to tell the story in chronological order?
So the reader knows the order things went in and what happened during each time the events happened.
Pick one interesting word from the chapter, find its meaning , and explain why it is interesting?
An interesting word to me was undergrowth. Undergrowth is a dense growth of shrubs ad under trees in woodland. It is interesting to me because of how they have used this word to make it more interesting when reading instead of some word that can be boring, or uninteresting.
John Marsden foreshadows several events and characters in this chapter. Make three predictions based on the evidence in the text about what may occur later on in the story?
My first event is that during there trip in hell they could get lost or something terrible could happen over night.
Second Prediction is on their way to hell and Tailor's Stitch the car could break down or they could crash.
A last prediction is that during their stay they might realise that they couldn't be that independent on there own and need to head home.
What kind of story do you think Ellie is going to tell?
A story that is going to be very interesting and tell some really meaningful and important events that the reader can learn from.
What set of skills do these characters  have that convince their parents that they can 'go bush' independently?
A skill of begging and being able to make their parents believe and trust them that they can do this without a parent or adult needed.

Addicted to Technology?

Students Addicted to Tech
I believe that students are addicted to their cellphones. This is because I see more people these days on there phone. An example is students in class these days are on there phone or finding a way to hide it so they are able to go on social media. Families spend less quality time together because of them being on there devices. Humans jobs these are being taken over by robots or machines such as housekeeping. Those are the reasons I believe students are addicted to their phone.

Individual Task

4 SEXXY Paragraphs's

Paragraph 1:
The film aspect medium shot was skillfully used to show the full picture of the actor. For example we see this when Maria is watching PKs boxing match. The director did this so show that the actor is interested in Pk. The effect of this made the audience think about how Maria felt about Pk, also gave the audience a feeling of interest making us think about what will happen next. This aspect can be compared to later on in the movie when Pk finally talks to Maria.

Paragraph 2:
The film aspect close up was used brilliantly used to show the painting of the Africans and Afrikaans.  For instance we see this when the camera is showing us the painting of the black and white boxing. The director did this show that everyone is able to work together and get along. The effect of this was to show that no hate or racism is needed. This aspect can be contrasted to the beginning of the movie when Pk and his mother lives and welcomes the Africans into their home.

Paragraph 3:
The film aspect long shot was effectively used because it shows the whole area of the
scene and who’s around it. For example, we see this when the camera is moving
across the boxing area and then shows the audience as well. The director did this to
give the watcher’s of the movie an idea of the area they are in and how it is compared
to nowadays. The effect of this showed the audience the racial side and non racial side
and were people stand. This aspect can be compared to when Quel Piet being beaten
by the guard and the camera shows the whole scene and area around them.
Paragraph 4:

The film aspect medium shot was skillfully used to show Pk and the Africans being taught English. For instance we see this when Pk is standing up holding a book and teaching some of the Africans English words. Avildsen did this to show Pk and his kindness towards the africans and treating them with the same respect the whites get. The effect of this was to let the audience know the difference in some humans and how people should be treated. This can be Juxtaposed to Pk working with the African practicing boxing and getting ready for the  match.

SEXXY Paragraph

SEXXY Paragraph 1 & 2

Paragraph 1:
The film aspect Long shot was used effectively. For example, here we see a shot of all the tribes gathered together for a presentation. The purpose of this was to show that everyone can unite and work together no matter what tribe, race or ethnicity. This made the audience feel glad and happy that integrity has been shown. This can be linked with when Pk has been bullied and sticks up for himself.

Paragraph 2:
The film aspect close up was used brilliantly. For example, here we see Quel Piet all blooded up and the guard yelling in his face. The purpose of this was to show Quel Piet being Belittled and how much the cop is a coward. This makes the audience feel upset and angry for how he is being treated. It gives them a good understanding of how it use to be.This can link with how Pk was treated when he was younger by the older kids that made him feel belittled.
