Slavery Songs and questions

What are Slave songs: Slaves needed something to do while they were working, so while they were in the fields they would sing and make up there own songs. These songs would communicate to each other and explain how the slaves feel at that moment.

First song: The first song makes me feel sad and makes me picture what they conditions they may have been in. I learnt that the Slaves are drained and tired from what there being made to do, they just want the sun to go down so they go to sleep and get some rest. I don't think I can relate to any part in this song. They are talking about their everyday lives and what they go through.

Second song: The second song makes me feel the same as the first one but also a bit better because she has hope in the future and it sounds like she stopped being a slave. From this song I learnt that what she had to do was the same from the first song. I think that her having hope and strength for the future and her kids
